Do not immediately call emergency services, calling emergency services may be unnecessary and cause stress to the individual having tics. Instead, stay with them until it passes . If you notice it’s getting bad ask then what they want ( if they are able to communicate).
STAY CALM,
watching a tic attack can be scary , i know. But it’s scary for the person it too. Freaking out will only make it worse . Know that it will pass and reassure the ticker that your here for them. Practicing breathing techniques can help both of you , too.
Make sure that they are in a safe location.
The worst place to be in a tic attack is somewhere where you could hurt yourself. If you’re unable to move your friend , support them and make sure they have a soft area to lay their head or other sensitive body parts.
Get water and snacks,
tic attacks are exhausting . Imagine running and running at a fast speed for hours , not being able to slow down. If someone having a tic attack , they might becomes thirsty or hungry easily, and staying hyper and full may help them fight attacks ( tics can be worsened by exhaustion)
Ask them what they need,
